Writing crime fiction: an update and a chance to meet

A few of you have written to me since Call to Arms was released asking if there will be more books featuring Detective Kay Hunter.

I'm very pleased to share the news that I'm working on both the edits for book six in the series and have started developing the plot for book seven, so yes – plenty more from Kay and the team on the way!

I'll be in Kent over the course of next month, running around with a camera and notebook in hand to do as much research as possible, as well as taking part in some author events. If you live in the area, I’d love to see you. Here are the details.

Waterstones Canterbury

Join myself and Vicky Newham at Waterstones Canterbury on the evening of 7 June when we'll be having a conversation about why people kill, and what motivates the killers in our books.

Vicky is the author of Turn a Blind Eye, the first book featuring DI Maya Rahman and out now from HarperCollins.

Expect a lively and fun evening! We'd be delighted if you can join us - more details and ticket information from Waterstones Canterbury HERE

Swanley Library

I'll be hosting an "in conversation" event at Swanley library from 7pm on 11 June 2018, chatting about the Kent-based Detective Kay Hunter books and why the county became the focus of my writing for this police procedural series.

The evening will include an exclusive reading from book six in the series, to be published on 8 July 2018.

A limited number of earlier paperbacks in the series, as well as the English Spy Mysteries omnibus (Series 1: Assassins trilogy) will be available to purchase. Tickets can be obtained from Swanley Link Library in person, or by email: swanleylibrary@kent.gov.uk

Book six in the Detective Kay Hunter series will be out in a couple of months, and I have a cover reveal taking place within the next few weeks.

Please consider joining my Readers Group so you don't miss out receiving an exclusive extract from the new book prior to publication, as well as the chance to win one of three signed paperbacks when the book is released!

Thanks, as always, for your amazing support and reviews for this series and all my books – you make this job a heck of a lot easier!
