As if I need an excuse to pore through a list of books I've been meaning to make a dent in...!
Here's a great idea if you're an avid reader like me - Goodreads have launched their yearly "Reading Challenge" (here). I've put in a rather conservative 80 books - I figured that with a sequel to write, I'd better not give myself too many distractions this year.
My Goodreads Author Page shows I'm currently 2% behind as the significant other has run off with my Kindle and I'm currently re-reading a few old Dick Francis books while he reads my Robert Crais collection.
If you haven't read anything by Dick Francis, I highly recommend starting with "Nerve". Written in the 60s, it still ranks as a great thriller. Robert Crais' Elvis Cole/Joe Pike series of books just gets better and better - if you haven't read any of these, start at the beginning with "The Monkey's Raincoat"; by book three in the series you'll be hooked. The next book in the series is released this month - click here for details.
