I received an email from Tom Adair yesterday. Tom is a retired, internationally recognized, forensic scientist/CSI in Colorado (US).
Tom recently launched an informative blog (http://forensics4fiction.wordpress.com).
He explains the basics of forensics for authors of all experience levels. He has just started a section on historical forensics, and will soon add some fun categories for the science fiction and fantasy/paranormal writers as well. Tom is happy to answer questions about forensics and law enforcement in general so feel free to flick him an email if the need arises.
WARNING: Content is addictive reading! I highly recommend you take a look.
All the editing is done and I spent yesterday formatting the manuscript ready to upload.
I’ve just found out that Smashwords (who I’m using to distribute the book) now have distribution agreements for Android, Apple, Windows Phone 7 and HP’s WebOS, so even people without an eReader will be able to download the book and read it on their mobile phones. No more boring bus/train journeys into work!
Rather than wait until the book is available, I’ve already started marketing it. Press releases are drafted, contacts lists turned upside down and emails sent around the world – all I need is a couple of editors having a quiet day and I’m in. Of course, there’s also that most powerful of marketing tools – word of mouth.
Still on target for a July release – watch this space, as they say…
